My barbershop chorus comes here every other year for a weekend of coaching. So far I've stayed in the cabins. It's... super affordable, and the price includes meals, which are very good. It's very beautiful at night with a clear sky. The place is usually filled with different groups but is always run efficiently. The campus is kept very clean, and is quiet at night. If you need a place to have a group event, call way in advanced. This place is great and gets booked quickly.read more

I go to my annual church retreat here and I love it! All the staff are friendly and make sure you're accommodated the... whole entire stay there. The food is made freshly by them (which is really good by the way). Activities are made for everyone. It's a nice getaway from life so you can bond with God and your fellow church family.read more

Anthony Haney and his team... have been doing a marvelous job developing this beautiful place to enrich your experience in every way possible. From the food to the ever expanding facilities and the very warm and gracious staff each year it just gets better and better. Peaceful, spacious, beautiful and very accommodating. A great experience every time.read more

If you are looking for a place for your next retreat, this is the perfect place. I am not saying that because i am... associated with the conference through my church, but because it's an environment where lives are being changed. The staff cares about the people they serve. Bring your teens and young adult Youth Group, you will not regret.read more

Meet our Ministry Team

Anthony Haney

executive director

My name is Anthony Haney, Executive Director of LPCCC, and it is my pleasure to share this jewel called Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center with you today. As you view the site, I know you will come away with a sense of how truly special LPCCC is and how the Lord is using these holy grounds to make a huge impact in kingdom building and the harvest explosion in the days in which we live. Testimonies from our guests tell the true story over and over that there is a peace that falls on you as you arrive. It is incredible how lives are being touched and transformed. Praise the Lord! We would be honored to host your next event. I look forward to helping you in the near future. May the Lord bless you.

AGREED STATEMENT OF BELIEF

These are the beliefs Nazarenes hold to be true:

We believe in one God-the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil.

We believe that the finally impenitent are hopefully and endlessly lost.

We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgement will take place.

History of Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center

Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center property is a part of 3,000 acres owned by Dr. Melvin Dewey, originator of the Dewey Decimal system used by librarians for more than a century. Dr. Dewey built his winter home and guest lodges on the site in the 1920’s. Many famous people traveled to this beautiful resort to get out of the winter weather and to enjoy Dewey’s spectacular hospitality. The list of famous guests includes the Churchills, Fords, Houghs, DuPonts and several movie stars and politicians. The two mansions, called Lil Loj and Live Oak, remain

today as the center of the exciting resort. After Dewey’s death in 1935, the site became known as Southwinds and continued on for several years. In 1997 the Southern Florida District Church of the Nazarene acquired the center. Over the past years many new buildings have been built to host over 30,000 guests per year. The center is open year round and can host up to 600 at a time. Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center is honored to continue Dr. Dewey’s grand dream and vision for this jewel called Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center.
